I was listening to a new playlist one day in March and hit upon a song called My Stove’s on Fire by Robert Lester Folsom. The lyrics of the song’s refrain are I think I love you. My stove’s on fire. In the context of the song, I think that the “stove on fire” part is supposed to be like, the stove is lit, all systems go, time to cook. But as I listened to the song I heard it like, Oh shit, my stove is on fire and my house is about to burn down and everything is total chaos.
I’ve been seeing Minivan Dad for about five months now. And it’s a real I think I love you; my stove is on fire situation.
